In an effort to lessen traffic in EDSA, the MMDA wants to ban people who drive with no companions from using the major thoroughfair.

MMDA assistant general manager Jojo Garcia spoke to DZMM and claims that the agency has data that shows 78 percent of private motorisrs on EDSA do not have companions in their vehicles.

Vehicles with 3 passengers will be exempted from the number coding scheme according toe Garcia.

Garcia also tried putting a good face on this proposal by claiming that aside from lessening traffic, carpooling on EDSA would enhance social interaction.
