According to the source of CNN, the shooter was known to French security services for radical Islamic activities. The suspect has been on the radar of the French domestic security service who was also the subject of a “Fiche S” surveillance file.
French Ministry of Interior spokesman Pierre-Henry Brandet stated that the incident started at around 9 p.m. in Paris.
According to him, the attacker in Paris shooting
“got out the vehicle and shot at the police vehicle with an automatic weapon, killing one policeman instantly… then ran away, managing to shoot and wound two other policemen. Other policemen engaged and shot and killed the attacker.”
