Serena Williams the greatest female tennis player is 20 weeks pregnant with her first child. She announced it on Snapchat last Wednesday.
This means that Williams was already pregnant when she won the Australian Open last January.
She was engaged to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian just a few months ago.
According to Dr. Markos Klonizakis, senior research fellow at Sheffield Hallam University,
“the triumph at that stage of pregnancy is amazing.”
He also said that,
“it is not easy for any woman to adapt to changes in her body, let alone while playing sport at an elite level.”
Professor Janice Rymer said,
“For elite athletes, a tailored training and nutrition plan would normally be developed by a specialist team. High levels of exercise at around eight weeks gestation should not affect pregnancy for these athletes and those used to high levels of exercise.”
Her supporters are glad knowing that she will be having a baby.
“You will be such an amazing mother and I wish your family health and happiness for the best journey in the world,”
Coming from Angelique Kerber.
According to Taryn Finley’s tweet,
“Serena Williams was pregnant when she won the Australian Open on Jan. but I can’t even get out of bed when I’m on my period. Sis is superwoman.”
